The season is starting up for Rugby fifteens and the players are preparing to have a successful season. Rugby players are starting to work out in the school weight room and running for the season.

Incoming freshman Max Schlager said, “What I’m doing to prepare for this rugby season is starting to work out and work on my strength and conditioning. I’m also going to a couple of camps and hopefully some tournaments in the near future.”

Schlager also has been playing rugby his whole life and hopes to follow his brothers' footstep in rugby by playing in a high collegiate level.

“Well first off I want to improve every aspect of my game, passing, running, reading on offense and defense. After that, I’d like to make it to the state championship again and win it,” Schlager said.

The team last year made to it to the state finals but lost.

“I'm trying to be mentally strong and start spending time with my teammates to create a bond with them,” sophomore Ruben Ibarra said.

His goal for the season is to, "be the loudest on the field communicating on the field and get big in the weight room.”

“My goals for the season is to scores as many tries as possible and make a lot of tackles I’m also excited to see my friends and play with them one more time,” freshman Eli Jumper said.

“Also for the season I want to prepare for success by getting a better IQ at the game and by getting to know the coaches more,” Jumper said

The rugby players are ready to take on the season and get first in states.
