Allison Frantz

Q: What schools did you apply to?
A: “High Point, Gettysburg, UVA, Mary Baldwin, Washington and Lee, and Wake Forest.”

Q: Have you gotten accepted to anywhere yet?
A: “I got into Mary Baldwin and they gave me a scholarship, but I don’t really want to go there.”

Q: Did you apply early decision anywhere?
A: “No, because I’m afraid of that type of commitment, but I did apply early action to High Point.”

Q: When did you start the college application process?
A: “I started figuring out where to apply in late July to the beginning of August. I started actually applying around September and October.”

Q: What is your top choice?
A: “I would really like to get into Washington and Lee or UVA, and I should hear back from them by the end of December.”

Tyler Gatson

Q: Where are you applying?
A: “I’m going to HACC for the first two years, then I’m going to finish my undergrad work at Penn State, and go to MSU to get my doctorate.”

Q: What led you to your decision to attend three different schools?
A: “I have to get a doctorate, and I would like to save as much money in state for the first four years as I can.”

Q: When do you plan on beginning this process?
A: “Probably within the next couple of weeks.”

Matthew Todd

Q: Where have you applied?
A: “I have only applied to four schools so far. I applied to Princeton Early Action, and also applied to Pitt, Penn State, and Cornell.”

Q: What is your number one school?
A: “My number one is Princeton, my number two is Cornell. My backups are Pitt, Penn State, and Haverford.”

Q: Do you plan on applying to any other schools?
A: “I intend to apply to Yale, Harvard, Penn, and Columbia.”

Q: When did you start the application process?
A: “I started the essays in the summer, and they took a lot more time then I thought they were going to. I wish I had done at least a little more preparation and more organized planning instead of just going through them one at a time.

Q: Have you gotten into any schools yet?
A: “I’ve gotten into Pitt and Penn State. I’ll hear back from Princeton in two weeks and the rest will come later.”

Q: Are you excited to hear back from your top schools?
A: “No.”
