Most teenagers probably hear the term ”VSCO girl” at least twice a day. It is a term used for a stereotype of girls that act or look a certain way. They can be found anywhere, especially in CV.

VSCO is an app where students can post and edit pictures. Not many girls described as VSCO girls have the app, but they have been saddled with the term nonetheless.

Here is the collective definition of the VSCO: a girl that wears oversized shirts, short shorts, scrunchies, shell necklaces, and owns a hydroflasks .
They also often say ‘and I oop” and use the sound “sksksks.”

Junior Ramsha Maheen describes the term as “an alteration of what the basic white girl was in the past.” Ramsha also had a VSCO account before it was used to describe a personality trait, so she sometimes gets offended when people say it.

Many people use the term VSCO girl or make jokes relating to it. They also mimic the sayings “and I oop” and “sksksksks.”

Most students have used the term to make jokes. Junior Ryan Letterman said he makes the jokes “only with [his] friends.”

Freshman Genevieve Miller said, “It’s funny to watch [people[ make fun of them, but not when you’re the one beingmade fun of."

The term VSCO girl has had a major influence on social media platform Tik Tok. There are a lot of videos of jokes about VSCO girls, but few take true offense.
