This year the marching band is bringing the circus to the football field with their show Cirque Du CV, an exciting show filled with upbeat music and lots of color. The theme for this year’s show is fun and playful.

Marching band director Mr. David Porter said, "The concept of the show was a combination of staff discussions but also discussing student input."

The musicians in the band are excited for the season to come as well. Freshman band member Sam Gabel said, "I really like it. I like the opportunity the theme gives us to do something out of the norm. It allows us to bring energy to our music, and to really put on a great show with the help of the color guard."

Although the band has not started competitions yet, they are working hard to make sure they are ready when October comes. The band practices every Monday from 4 to5:30 and every Thursday from 5 to8 to perfect their performance.

Porter said, “The goal for the band this year is to do the best job we can. Never worry about another band’s show. We always try to be better than the previous week.”

Although performing all kinds of shows is fun for the musicians in the marching band, there is much more to band life.. Marching band is the perfect activity to join to meet new people and build lasting bonds.

When asked what his favorite thing about marching band, drum major and junior Wally Adamy said, “I would probably have to say the friendships that I have made and the experiences I have shared with them. To go along with that, going to competitions with the band and getting to know everybody, also meeting people from other bands.”

Cirque Du CV is a fun, happy show that everyone will enjoy. There are 81 dedicated and talented students involved, trying their best to make an unforgettable show.
