Mr. Tim Rimpfel coached over the span of 40 years. He coached at Cumberland Valley, Trinity, Boiling Springs, and Bishop McDevitt. Rimpfel won the state championship in 1992 with the score of 28-12 over Upper St. Clair. He is one of the 11 coaches in PA to win 300 games, along with being one of the Greatest Coaches in History of PA.
On September 21, 2021 Coach passed, and now CV honors his legacy.
Assistant Athletic Director and former player for Coach Rimpfel Darnell Stanford said, “Coach's legacy is one of hard work, confidence and accountability. Hard work because he believed if you outwork your opponents, you will be better prepared for the competition. Confidence because if you put the work in, you will believe that you are going to win every time you step foot on the field. It wasn’t cockiness, it was that confidence that you did the necessary things to be successful. He made it known that you were to be accountable for your own actions, but he made sure that as a team you were also to be accountable for your teammates. He understood the best teams are the ones who work well together and could trust each other when times got tough.”
Many alumni players came out Friday, September 24 to honor Mr. Rimpfel on Chapman field and share a moment of silence in respect for their coach.
Stanford reflected on the highlights of the evening.“Hands down it was the stories that were told by the alumni. There were nearly three decades worth of stories being told that night. Listening to different former players tell their stories, you could hear in their voices how much Coach meant to them and how much he did for them outside of the game of football. I didn’t hear any stories about wins and losses that night. Instead, there were stories about how great of a man he was."
Coach Rimpfel was a beloved teacher, coach, and friend.
