CV Musical Announces Cast for The Addams Family

The musical directors announced the cast for this year’s spring musical,
The Addams Family on Friday, October 19. Candidates auditioned and callbacks lasted two weeks prior to the cast being announced.
“The show was cast really well, I am excited,” junior Abbey Berger-Knorr said.
Berger-Knorr has been in the musicals since her freshman year and is excited to be the in the ensemble this year. The ensemble is a group of actors and actresses in the show that do not have a main role, but dance, act and sing in the background to enhance the story.
“I’m sure it was a hard decision for the production staff because we have so many talented singers at CV, but I am very excited with the cast this year,” Senior stage manager Mary Clay said.
Clay’s job as stage manager is to make sure every student is where they are supposed to be. She accomplishes this through taking attendance and attending every rehearsal to help the cast learn. Clay is assisted by Abby Palase, Wally Adamy and Veronica Slevin.
Clay is excited as well, as she expressed her love for the cast, crew, and pit orchestra.
“Musical is my favorite part of the school year. It is time consuming but I love it!” Clay said.
The Addams Family is a show that chronicles the Addams’, a family with a spooky background, and the comedic plot twists that occur when they become (romantic) friends with ‘normal’ humans. It is a funny show and the CV community should definitely see it this Spring.
When asked about concerns for the show, both girls said they had none.This testifies to the production staff of this show as it shows how the casting was widely accepted.
When asked about why a CV student not in the musical should attend the show, Berger-Knorr said that it is fun to watch because of the humor.
“Musicals are quite entertaining. They involve humor, singing, and dancing,” Berger-Knorr said.
Shows will run April 10-13 at 7 pm and April 14 at 2 pm. Ticket sales begin after Winter Break.
