Brothers and co-owners Hilario and Sebastian Alonso opened Casa Mariachi on Dec. 1. The restaurant in the Windsor Park Shopping Center offers Mexican cuisine, including tamales, enchiladas and tacos.

“It’s not easy, because you have to get over many obstacles, and have to follow all the rules, and make sure that you're within contracts,” Sebastian Alonso said. “It’s not easy but we’re able to get through it.”

Requirements for operating restaurants include a business license, food handler's permit, seller's permit, and many more. Buying the space is just a part of the process of opening a restaurant.

The Alonso brothers hope to open more locations as their business grows, remodel, and more for the future of the restaurant.

“This is a family restaurant and we invite everyone and anyone who wants to come, the food is fresh every day,” Hilario Alonso said. “We want to make sure the food is of quality for everyone who indulges in the food. Our customers are our top priority.”

The staff at the restaurant is very friendly and there is nice music while eating. One distinct feature is their nachos; rather than dumping all toppings on like most restaurants, they ensure that each chip is covered with the same toppings, including their premium beef.

The restaurant usually operates from 11 a.m to 9 p.m.
