Girls Soccer had nine seniors graduate in 2022, losing key players such as Lauren Chang and KK Ball. The team looks to rebuild this season, adding many underclassmen to the roster. Sophomore powerhouses Kate Collins and Alex Dreihaup plan to make an impact on the field. Seniors Rylee Fry, Andrea Ngyuen, and Reagan Basehore take over the captains’ role in hopes of being playoff contenders.
“This season is going to be faster and quicker, our team chemistry is better than past years,” Fry said.
The Eagles lost a tough opener against North Allegheny 3-1. They plan to come back stronger against Carlise and Central Dauphin later in the season. Since then they have come back and beat Chambersburg and Cedar Cliff.
The team also looks forward to matchups against their perennial rivals.
“CD and Carlise have always been competitive games for us, but we will beat them this year,” Nguyen said confidently.
The Eagles 2021 season ended earlier than expected when they lost the first round of districts. This year the captains aim for a different ending and are doing what they need to make it happen.
“We are a lot more comfortable with each other on the field and we can make it farther than everyone thinks,” Basehore said.
Come out and support the Eagles when they play Central Dauphin and Carlise this week.
