Cumberland Valley High School hosted a ceremony November 9, 2022 for all veterans and their families, followed by a lovely dinner to say “thank you” for all they have done for our country. This event was put together completely by students involved in the Patriot’s Club, which is led by Co-Presidents Cara Morrison and Olivia Underkofler, with Mr. Peter Mashinski as the club advisor.

Members of the club spent weeks preparing for this event by collecting donations for the dinner, as well as writing letters to the veterans and gathering all supplies needed to decorate for the event.

Over 15 local restaurants donated to this special event from Urban Churn to Bacco.

“Cara and I spent a lot of time over summer break going to restaurants in the community and asking them for donations for the dinner," Underkofler said. "We also spent a lot of time coordinating with the restaurants, meeting with our club members, meeting with staff, and shopping for decorations. We also spent a lot of time with Mr. Mashinski while we were getting everything ready."

“I am very happy with how the event turned out. It was a really special night to honor our veterans. Once the night came, every club member was greatly valued and appreciated. Everyone made this amazing night possible, and I was really glad to be apart of it,” Morrison said.

It was a very successful night honoring the veterans, and everyone was very happy with how the event turned out.
