Tyler Quinn sets the ball for outside hitter Andrew Duncan against Carlisle

As the CV boys volleyball season approaches, anticipation is building for what promises to be an exciting year. The team is setting ambitious goals for the season and are determined to meet them.

“We would like to win the district championship and make it far into the state tournament,” senior Tyler Quinn said.

The team's confidence is bolstered by their high rankings: second in the northeast region and tenth in the country. However, they recognize that rankings mean little until they are earned on the court. “It definitely puts a target on our backs," Quinn said.

“Our greatest strength is our depth. We have a lot of players who play at higher levels outside of the school season,” Quinn said.

All the players on the team play for at least one club team outside of school, with some players going across the country to compete in club tournaments.

Despite their confidence, the team is aware of the challenges they may face. “We always have to look out for injuries,” Quinn said. “Players getting injured can be a real problem if we want to win districts.” Last year, the team was plagued with injuries, with many of the starting players receiving season-ending injuries.

The first home game is April 10th, where they will be playing Carlisle.
