2023-24 Overalls KathleenFencel, Zach Runkle, and Kamin Naley
CV Mini-THON and its success over the years is never possible without the leaders behind it all. Kamin Naley, Zach Runkle, and Kathleen Fencel, the 2023-24 Mini-THON overalls, will lead CV’s effort to fight pediatric cancer by raising the most money possible in 2024.
Runkle has been thinking and planning to be an overall from an early age. “My interest started in fifth grade when the Mini-THON committee from our high school came to Sporting Hill for our Mini-Mini-THON. I thought that was cool.”
His interest carried all the way through his middle and high school years. Prior to this year, like many, he didn’t know what it took to become an overall.
“There’s two parts to the selection process and the first part you have to do an in-person interview with the overalls and the advisors, and that takes like an hour. It's just repeated questions for an hour. That’s definitely difficult.”
After the overalls were selected, they worked hard over the summer in preparation for the events leading up to Mini-THON.
“So our first big event is probably our Gold-Out Tailgate, we have a golf outing coming up too. We also have THON-factor and Man Pageant,” Runkle said.
