Beltway Commons shopping center is being built on the Carlisle Pike off of the 581 exit. This will include a new Raising Canes fast food restaurant and students are excited and wondering how it compares to other fast food restaurants in the area.
Junior Michael Hoy said, “I’m looking forward to their chicken fingers and that special sauce, I heard it’s up to par with Red Robin's Campfire Sauce.”
Sophomore Dylan Fertanbaugh said, “I’m so excited that they are building one near us. I finally will get to try their amazing chicken tenders more often. I was tired of only seeing it in places like Maryland or State College.”
Students clearly have some positive opinions about the new addition to the Pike, but will Raising Canes match up to other fast food restaurants?
“I think so. When I took my trip to California, Raising Canes was phenomenal. It was one of the best chicken fingers I've ever tasted and I've tasted a lot of chicken fingers in my lifetime,” Hoy said.
Fertanbaugh provided some insight about the differences between Raising Canes’ sauce and the glorified Chick-Fil-A sauce.
“I think the sauce depends on what people like. It’s completely different sauces. Chick-Fil-A has barbecue and mustard while raising canes has mayo and ketchup. It really depends on what people like.”
Although there is already a lot of buzz about the new Raising Canes, construction was delayed another month, so students are going to have to wait to try their tasty tenders and sauce.
