The highly anticipated season two of the Disney+ original, The Mandolorian, released and brought back the excitement for Star Wars. The eighth and final episode of the first season was released back in December. The newest episode is named “The Marshal.” The Mandalorian is a Star Wars series that follows the main character nicknamed Mando and the mysterious character named “The Child” which fans call “Baby Yoda.” The first season ended with many questions, and season two looks to deliver answers for eager fans.

Mando’s goal is to bring “The Child” back to his species which nobody seems to know. Mando wants to find other Mandolorians to help him achieve his goal. “The Marshal” begins with Mando on an abstract planet where he meets someone who knows where another Mandolorian is. Mando gets his answers and leaves for Tatooine where roadblocks begin and the plot unfolds.

The episode was the perfect way to start season two. It felt like a continuation of season one with the pacing and tone. This episode was nearly an hour which was longer than all of season one’s episodes. There were many reveals and easter eggs that resulted in a lot of fan service which sometimes became excessive. The action was great and had me on the edge of my seat. A small negative of the show was that it was safe, but first episodes can be safe and enjoyable.

“The Marshal” is the newest entry into the Star Wars universe and it does not disappoint. It was solid all around and gave me and other Star Wars fans excitement for the following episodes which release every Friday. I would rate this episode a 9.5/10 with the only minor drawbacks being the familiarness and the sometimes extreme fan service..
