Cumberland Valley high school has a wide variety of elective classes. From different languages to cooking and even art, whether the student is a freshman or a senior, all are given the same choices when it comes to elective classes.

An elective that catches most students' eyes is film class.
This class is a full year course and has multiple levels: film 1, film 2, advanced film and IB film.

Mr. Robert Bomboy teaches all levels of film. He is known to be an extremely nice guy and super understanding of mistakes, always taking the time out of his day to notice hard work. The lessons curriculum asks students to analyze and create films as well as learn the history of film and film making.

Senior Caden Grove said, “It’s a super fun class. I wouldn’t say it’s easy; there are times where you have to grind but the end product to completely worth it, and so is the grade.”

Film class works in different units just like any other class. The films students make are based on concepts introduced by the films they watch.

Senior Sofia Rothman said, "The class is simple and I learned a lot from it, it is really what sparked my passion for film.”

Camera work and editing is central to this course and allows students to realize how much work goes into a film, and as the class moves on everyone gets better and better, and it is overall just a fun environment to show other students art work.
