Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, changes are happening this year at the Cumberland Valley Homecoming. The 2022 Class Co-Presidents, Mia Pesavento and Allison Mitchell (along with the help of many other students and staff), have provided important information about the Cumberland Valley Homecoming Dance.

Time: The dance will be held from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Students are not allowed to arrive at the dance later than 6:30pm. Once a student leaves the dance, they are not permitted to re-enter at any time.

Location: This year’s dance will be outdoors on the Cumberland Valley tennis courts. “There will be food trucks, yard games, and a dance floor set up on the tennis courts,” Pesavento said.

COVID-19 Guidelines: Certain COVID-19 guidelines are required this year. “We are not allowed to hold an indoor dance, so we have moved it outside. If at any point someone has to be in the building, masks will be required inside. While outdoors, masks are optional. Instead of snack foods, we have two food trucks available for people to purchase meals and dessert at. At a traditional homecoming dance, there is normally a snack and punch table. Having food trucks will drastically decrease the germs the food is exposed to before it is served,” Pesavento said.

Theme: The theme for the dance is “A Night Under the Stars.” “When planning our theme, we just wanted to incorporate the outdoor aspect, and get students excited. We are so happy and grateful we can provide a semi-normal event for students to partake in, especially after the last 18 months,” Mitchell said.
