Cumberland Valley’s 2022 Homecoming Queen, Ashley Lin
Ashley Lin was crowned as Cumberland Valley’s 2022 Homecoming Queen October 14th at Chapman Field. Even though she won the most votes, some may not know who their reigning queen is? So, who is Ashley Lin?
“I’m part of the school’s orchestra group Sinfonietta, Club Green’s publicity officer, THON Food committee member, Key Club, and CV Pad project,’ Lin said.
The nominations were chosen by the class of 2023 through a Google form.
“Though I didn’t originally run for court, my friends all decided it would be a good idea if I ran,” Lin said. She got the news of her nomination October 2nd that she made Homecoming Court.
“It was stressful all throughout, but I enjoyed every part of it. Having to order a dress in hopes it’ll come on time and fit me was the most stressful part in the beginning,” Lin said.
The homecoming court rehearsed their corvette entrance days before the crowning, picked out their escorts, and practiced their pep rally entrances.
Lin described her campaign process that was supported by her close friends who first helped her run for court and then after when she ran for queen. “My close friends group, they were my biggest supporters before, during, and after everything,” Lin said.
After the crowning Lin described the moment saying it still feels unreal,“I was in complete shock, but then seeing all my friends crying and cheering for me made me so happy. I did not celebrate, but the homecoming being the following day was its own celebration for me,” Lin said.
