To raise money for the Night Of Mini-THON, Special Events chairs, Courtney Staton and Olivia Seeber, work hand in hand with Mr. Bedard to organize THON Factor.
This year, THON Factor consisted of 23 Cumberland Valley High School students who performed Friday, January 10th.
“We began planning THON Factor in early November. We discussed audition dates, had auditions, had a meeting with all of the contestants, and then had rehearsals for the contestants with the house band,” Staton said.
To make THON Factor the best it can be, Staton and Seeber work alongside Mr. Todd Bedard.
“We work hand-in-hand with Mr. Bedard and we are his main line of communication when it comes to needing the help of the other committee chairs,” Staton said.
“At rehearsals we try to get to know some of the contestants, that way when we write the script for the show, it can be more personalized."
Aside from the hard work of Staton and Seeber, Bedard plays a large role in the preparation leading up to the night of.
“Mr. Bedard holds the auditions, helps the contestants pick good songs, gets the house band together, and puts together a line of judges,” Staton said.
Prior to the night of THON Factor, the contestants have many rehearsals so that the night runs smoothly.
“The contestants are responsible for knowing their song and how they want it to be played by the band. We hold 4 rehearsals with the band so they get used to singing with them,” Staton said.
Throughout the time of the contestants rehearsing, each contestant is in charge of fundraising for Four Diamonds.
“The contestants all have a DonorDrive which is where people can donate to them online. They promote their own individual fundraising on their own,” Staton said.
With all the endless work Staton, Seeber, and Bedard put into the show, CV Mini-THON hopes to raise as much as possible, with the help of all the contestants.
