Cumberland Valley’s annual class elections took place December 9 to December 14. Class elections give students the opportunity to vote for changes they want to make, events they want to plan, and the overall spirit of the school.

Beginning in February 2020, students who decided to run for a class positions began their campaign process. As election day neared, students were giving their all to get the vote of their classmates. These campaigns included YouTube videos and numerous posts on various social media platforms.

“Last [school] year we had to start by turning in papers, qualifying for [the election], and meeting with Ms. Bashore and Mrs. Blacksmith. And then school got shut down so we didn’t hear about it until about two months ago. So we had to start making videos and campaigning online,” Sophomore Sidney Krebs said.

On December 9, a Google Form was posted where students were able to cast their vote. The winners were posted through Schoology on Wednesday, December 16th.

Sophomore winners include Sidney Krebs (President), Rishi Repaka (Vice President), Meredith Seeber (Treasurer), Audrey Brenize (Secretary), and Lili Graff (Historian).

Junior winners include Jagraj Sandhu (President), Luke Gensbigler (Vice President), George Papoutsis (Treasurer), Kate DeVries (Secretary), and Lauren Chang (Historian).

Senior winners include Mark Chambers (President), Baraka Chanka (Vice President), Vy Le (Treasurer), Akshaj Kumar (Secretary), and Madison Keefer (Historian).

These leaders will have an important role in the school, deciding what council funds will go to, what events to plan, how events are run, and much more.
