Three new English teachers at Cumberland Valley High School all come from Central Dauphin East High. Coincidentally, all three have classrooms next to each other for the 2023 school year. The Upper Red House is the new home of Ms. Alicia Hack, Mr. Trevor Mack, and Ms. Laurenashley Kurutz.

Ms. Hack has taught for 17 years, and teaches 12th grade English at CV.
Mr. Mack has taught for 3 years, and teaches 11th grade English at CV.
Ms. Kurutz has taught for 10 years, and teaches 10th and 11th grade English at CV.

All three teachers describee their first impressions of CV experience.

“It's huge,” Ms. Hack said.
“I went to school here, so it is similar to when I went to high school here,” Mr.  Mack said.
“I was immediately met with how kind and welcoming the students and staff have been,” Ms. Kurutz said.

Principal Dr. Rawls used to be the principal at CD East which helped the new teachers with their transition to  their new school, but he's not the only aspect of CV that has helped them.

“The fact that all three of our classrooms are right next to each other, it's nice to look down the hall and see a familiar face,” Ms. Kurutz said.

Welcome to Cumberland Valley!
