Ben Tokarz, a senior at Cumberland Valley, has learned the art of juggling many tasks at once. Between varsity track and being a committee chair for Mini-THON, he has his hands full.

“I have a calendar that I keep in my phone that has all of my events and activities so that I do not forget anything and this also helps me set aside time for specific things,” Tokarz said.

Tokarz also has goals which he hopes to achieve. The winter season of track has recently started and he is apart of the distance team.

“My goal for this years track season is to break 1:55 in the 800 meter run and to break 4:30 in the mile run. Last year our 4x800 meter relay team made it to states so hopefully we will make it again this year,” Tokarz said.

Tokarz makes his education a major priority. Like most, he has various opinions on different classes in the school.

“My favorite classes at the high school are the engineering and science courses. Most of the time the material in these courses is interesting and I would like to go into the engineering or science field one day. Some of my favorite teachers include Mr. Mashinski and Mr. Harral,” Tokarz said.

Tokarz is the entertainment committee chair for Mini-THON. He plans to add some of his own ideas to the fundraiser.

“Max and Justin were the previous chairs and they set the bar pretty high however I hope to bring even more enthusiasm to this year’s CV Mini-THON,” Tokarz said.

He has plans for future education at Penn State.

“After highschool I am attending college at Penn State. At Penn State I intend to major in industrial engineering or something similar in the science or engineering department,” Tokarz said.

Tokarz also enjoys activities outside of track and school.

“Some of my favorite things to do outside of school are sports. I play sports for the school and some recreationally with club teams. I also enjoy spending my time hanging out with close friends,” Tokarz said.

As a senior, Tokarz has had many experiences within the school and is able to provide his suggestions to underclassmen.

“So far senior year has been the best one yet and I am thoroughly enjoying my last year at CV. Some advice that I would give to underclassmen is to get involved in the activities and sports around you. There are so many sports and clubs at CV and in each of these clubs and sports there is a family of people that often share many common interests as you,” Tokarz said.
