The Young Democrats Club is for students who want to become more politically involved in their community. People of all different political ideals and backgrounds are welcome.
“There's this vacuum for clubs that engage kids in politics and I really think that if that is something you are looking for then you should check out Young Democrats, you don't have to be left leaning,” senior Club President Daniel Blumenthal said.
For those who want volunteer opportunities there will be many chances for that in the upcoming election season. The Young Democrats will be helping with Sara Agerton and Shamaine Daniels.
In a typical meeting there are discussions on the current events that have happened since the previous meeting. Presentations are made about the current events going on in the country or the world and every member is invited to make their own presentation if they want.
“We try to get a lot of input from every single member and discussion going, but if you don't want to talk that's fine,” Blumenthal said.
Young Democrats has some big plans for the future of the club which include getting a chord for graduation.
Meetings are every Tuesday and start on September 20th. The meetings are located in Mrs. Dierwecter’s, room 150.
