Netflix. To teens and millennials Netflix is much more than just a media service that provides a massive variety of different shows and movies. To students Netflix is an escape where they can binge their favorite shows and have movie marathons, and because of this Netflix holds a special place in many people’s hearts.

This October in particular is a bitter-sweet month for many Netflix subscribers, as many shows/movies and seasons are being added and removed.

Brand new shows to the platform include: Season two of Big Mouth, The Haunting of Hill House, Elite, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is based off of the Archie comics, and is about a girl nearing her 16th Birthday, and must decide between her human side and her witch side. The first episodes came out October 26th. The show is said to be very good, as top critics on Rotten Tomatoes have given it 100% so far.

Elite is about three teens who enroll into a private school in Spain, and get involved tied into a murder. The show has a 96% by viewers, and is said to be a very suspenseful thriller that was released on October 5th.

The Haunting of Hill House is the modern version of the Shirley Jackson novel. The show is about children who grew up in what is now the most infamous haunted house, and now adults must face tragedy and confront the ghosts of their past. The show is spoken very highly of and is said to be a very suspenseful, spooky, and overall amazing show. It was given a 98% in the ratings, and the show was released October 12th.

There are many new shows for everyone being added to the platform.

Movies have also been added specifically for Spooktober.
On October 1st, classics like The Neverending Story, Blade I & II, and The Shining were added to Netflix.

With new additions also came removed content.

Seasons of Freaks and Geeks have been removed along with Halloween staples like The Babadook and Donnie Darko.

Needless to say, this October many classics have been removed from our beloved Netflix, but hopefully the new additions will make up for the departed content.
