All month of October Freeform has been showing 31 Nights of Halloween, so grab the remote and a blanket and popcorn because these spooky, scary films will surely satisfy your cinema classics craze.
Hocus Pocus (1993)
A skeptical boy, Max Dennison, becomes a believer of Salem’s infamous Sanderson sisters after he lights the black flame candle. The three Sanderson sister witches come back from the dead and are hungry for the soul of an innocent child. Max and his girl friend must survive Hallow’s Eve and keep his younger sister safe from the evil powers and spells the witches throw at them.
Halloweentown (1998)
On Marnie's 13th birthday, there is a suspicious feeling there’s more to her family history than not being able to go out trick-or-treating on Halloween. When her grandmother shows up, she lets the kids in on a secret; she gets to visit her grandma’s real home away from the real world, Halloweentown. Halloweentown is a magical land where ghouls and monsters live in harmony. Although not all spirits are kind, Marnie has to keep her family and the town safe and alive by understanding her own powers. This movie is great for a younger audience because it is kid friendly and has many interesting and funny looking characters.
The Addams Family (1991)
After the Addams family finds out unfortunate news about their poor, lost, uncle Fester, an investment opportunity falls upon the lap of a couple of lawyers. They infiltrate their new business partner’s family but Morticia Addams becomes suspicious of his character when he cannot remember any of the family memories. Gomez Addams knows he is the one who has to prove his brother is home at last.
Matilda (1996)
Matilda Wormwood was born into a family of duds and no goods but all she wanted to do was learn. When she started public school she met her favorite teacher, Ms. Honey. On the other hand, the principal, Ms. Trunchbull, was as mean as a bull; she hated children as much as she hated her job. Ms. Honey helped but Matilda soon figured out herself how to use her powers to empower those who needed empowered and to scare those who needed to be scared away.
Casper (1995)
As a young ghost roams a house in Maine, and a father and daughter move into it for the father’s job: he communicates with ghosts. Casper falls in love with the girl but not without his ghost uncles trying to get in the way first. They have troublesome tactics and careless regard for the house and its inhabitants, all they want to do is scare!
