On Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, the Cumberland Valley baseball team hosted Red Land in a very special game.
Red Land catcher, Anderson French, has a little brother, Adley French, who is currently battling ATRT, a rare, fast-growing tumor that begins in the brain and spinal cord.
At the game, Cumberland Valley and Red Land came together to show that there is more to baseball than just two teams against each other, and they came together to show their love and support for Red Land’s biggest fan.
While we know Adley may not have been cheering for Cumberland Valley, Cumberland Valley will always be cheering for Adley. To help Adley in his fight, Cumberland Valley baseball team made a donation to Hope4ATRT in honor of Adley that will help research in hope to discover a cure for this monstrous disease.
Regarding the game, Cumberland Valley came through with the win, final score 7-6. Ryan Rubin hit a homerun, with freshman Micah Lapila bringing in two runs.
