The Student Council Officers in order from left to right: Anneli Hellgren (President), Son Le (Vice President), Joe Bott (Treasurer), Lauren Honeysett (Secretary), Sahiti Kulkarni (PR/Historian)

The Cumberland Valley Student Council appointed new officers last June in the IMC, replacing the graduating officers. The officers share their roles and responsibilities as well as their plans for the year.

President - Anneli Hellgren
Anneli Hellgren, previously the Vice President, was promoted to President for her Senior year. As the President, she coordinates all club activities, meetings, and events. Currently, she is busy planning Homecoming and other community outreach and staff appreciation events. Her main focuses are building school spirit and unity amongst the student body.

Vice President - Son Le
Junior Son Le is the Vice President and the next in line to be the President of the Student Council. As the Vice President, he runs the Eagle Spirit Committee which is responsible for planning the pep rallies and spirit days. Regarding his motivation for applying for the positions, Le says,“I was really called to the feeling of being something bigger than myself; the idea that what you do reflects on the school”.

Treasurer - Joe Bott
Junior Joe Bott is the Treasurer of Student Council. He currently is responsible for tracking and raising funds for Student Council and is the head of the Community Outreach Committee. His main goal this year is to reach out to CV clubs and organizations to “give them CV help”. He says his drive to join the officers was fueled by his constant want to be involved in school events and activities.

Secretary - Lauren Honeysett
Senior Lauren Honeysett is currently the Secretary for the second year in a row. She is head of the Operations Committee which primarily handles the review of the Student Council Constitution and staff appreciation. She has already made preparations for substitute appreciation week by organizing handwritten thank you notes to the school’s substitute teachers

Historian - Sahiti Kulkarni
Junior Sahiti Kulkarni is the Historian and Public Relations Officer for her first year. She is responsible for reaching out to the student body to share about different events and opportunities. She is very interested in connecting with student leaders. Kulkarni says “I also plan to establish a more thorough communication system to connect our school and the student leaders of CV so that everyone gets the opportunity to voice their ideas and concerns”. She is preparing for upcoming events such as Homecoming and wants to ensure that these activities are exciting and inclusive for all Cumberland Valley students.
