Dylan Hrivnak is a Senior here at CV, and may be the next Quentin Tarantino. As of now, he has two documentaries and a bunch of smaller projects. Dylan is definitely going places, so keep an eye out for him.

Two of Dylan's biggest projects are on two sports teams at CV, one about the 2019 football season, This is Cumberland Valley Football, and the other about the Cheerleader’s state win, States: The Pursuit of Perfection which premiers March 11th at the cheer banquet.

"Last year I was nominated for best narrative at the David Freese Film Festival at Temple for my short film, The Debt. This year, I submitted my Penn State portion of, This Is Cumberland Valley Football, and that got nominated for best documentary and best editing," Hrivnak said.

"I won best documentary and lost for best editing. Just getting nominated was an honor, but winning was the cherry on top. When I first set about making the film in June, I had no idea it would get a premiere or even win any awards, so it was an amazing feeling being able to say that it won for best documentary."

For the next four years, Dylan will be pursuing this dream of film study by attending Temple with a major in film.

So what's next for Hrivnak? "Currently, I am putting the finishing touches on the cheerleading commentary and then tonight I just shot a short film called Sauce. I’m sort of making a return to traditional narrative short films, but I plan to make more documentaries in the future."

"Documentary wise, I think I may have one more up my sleeve. I may do a short one at the end of the year about the baseball team, but nothing is 100% confirmed yet. However, I just finished a fictional short film called Sauce with some of my film classmates that should be released on YouTube soon," Hrivnak said.

CV can't wait to see what else Dylan Hrivnak has up his sleeves, and will definitely be expecting a shoutout when he wins the Oscar for best film, or editing,or directing.
